Daniel Munie's brace and Preston Judd's goal powered the San Jose Earthquakes to a convincing 3-0 victory over Sporting Kansas City in their MLS season opener. Munie and Judd scored four minutes apart just before halftime, with Munie converting another in the second half.
San Jose dominated the match with 18 shots to Sporting KC's 7 and 15 corner kicks to three. Sporting KC entered the game following a major offseason overhaul after finishing last in the Western Conference last season with just 28 goals.
