Rondale Moore's Death Under Investigation

Former Purdue star and NFL receiver Rondale Moore died on Feb. 21 at age 25. The cause of death is under investigation by the Floyd County coroner, who says a suspected self‑inflicted gunshot wound was found.

Rondale Moore, 25, was found in a garage with a suspected self‑inflicted gunshot wound on Feb. 21. The Floyd County coroner has opened an investigation and an autopsy is scheduled for Sunday.

Moore, a former Purdue Boilermaker who earned the Paul Hornung Award in 2018, was a second‑round pick by the Arizona Cardinals in 2021 and spent three seasons in the NFL. He suffered knee injuries with the Falcons and Vikings before his death. Tributes poured in from the Vikings, NFLPA and the football community.
