Williams Praises Shanahan's Leadership

Despite injuries and the departure of their top wide receiver, the San Francisco 49ers finished 12-5 and made a playoff run in 2025. Offensive tackle Trent Williams recently praised head coach Kyle Shanahan, telling him on "The Pivot Podcast" that he should have won Coach of the Year.

"He made us believe we could go win a Super Bowl," Williams said. "How he broke down the game, and how he just understood his team, and when to give days off, and when to push us through the times that we wanted days off. He has a keen understanding for how to treat a locker room." Williams noted that Shanahan's approach creates accountability without publicly humiliating players, making them want to perform better to avoid letting him down.
