The U.S. men's hockey gold medal victory over Canada averaged 20.7 million viewers across NBC platforms, making it the second-most watched hockey game in NBC history.

The Olympic men's hockey gold medal game between the U.S. and Canada drew an average live audience of 18.6 million viewers on NBC and Peacock. Jack Hughes' overtime winner secured the U.S. men's first Olympic hockey gold since the 1980 "Miracle on Ice." The game trails only the 2010 U.S.-Canada final, which drew 27.6 million viewers.

Thursday's Olympics coverage reached new heights, with the U.S. women's gold medal game becoming the most-watched women's hockey game on record at 5.3 million viewers. The entire day averaged 26.7 million viewers, the largest Winter Games weekday audience since 2014. Team USA's record 12 gold medals helped make the Milan Cortina Olympics the most-watched Winter Games since 2014.
