The Chicago Cubs defeated the San Diego Padres 6-5 at Sloan Park, thanks to a homer and two RBIs from catcher Carson Kelly. Shōta Imanaga made his first spring start, allowing three hits and striking out once.

The Cubs took a 1-0 lead in the first and extended it to 3-0 before the Padres scored two runs in the fourth. In the fifth, catcher Carson Kelly hit a solo homer and drove in two more, pushing the score to 6-5. Shōta Imanaga, in his first start, allowed three hits and recorded one strikeout, while the Cubs’ bullpen held the Padres scoreless for the rest of the game.
