Rahm Accuses European Tour of Extortion

Jon Rahm has accused the European Tour of extortion amid negotiations over his participation in their events.

Spanish golfer Jon Rahm has labeled the European Tour's negotiations as "extortion," claiming they are blackmailling LIV Golf players. The DP World Tour has offered to stop fining players for competing in Saudi tournaments this year, but in return, they must clear their debts and play a minimum number of European Tour events.

For Rahm specifically, the proposed deal requires him to compete in six European Tour events, with two chosen by the tour organizers. Rahm has refused, insisting he will only play the minimum four tournaments required to maintain his playing rights. The negotiations are being handled individually with each player.
