Hull KR overcame a ferocious second-half fightback from NRL winners Brisbane Broncos to win the World Club Challenge 30-24. Debutant Tom Amone opened the scoring for the Robins, who led 30-4 before Brisbane mounted a stunning revival.
Despite conceding four tries in 16 minutes, Hull KR held on to become only the sixth English club to win the competition since 1987. The victory means Hull KR are the first club to hold all four major titles since St Helens in 2006-07.
