Giants Release LB Bobby Okereke

The New York Giants are releasing veteran linebacker Bobby Okereke, saving $9 million in salary cap space for next season.

The decision comes as the team prepares to overhaul the defense under new head coach John Harbaugh and defensive coordinator Dennard Wilson.

Okereke, 30, led the Giants with 78 tackles and two interceptions last season before being selected as a team captain.
