Nottingham Forest and Stuttgart both secured 3-0 first-leg victories in their Europa League playoff matches.

Forest, led by new manager Vítor Pereira, defeated Fenerbahçe 3-0 and will be favorites to advance at home. Stuttgart beat Celtic 4-1 at Celtic Park in a night to forget for caretaker boss Martin O'Neill, who vowed his team would compete in the return leg.
