Doohan Receives Death Threats Before Alpine Exit

Jack Doohan revealed he received death threats and encountered armed men before Alpine dropped him after the Miami Grand Prix. He is now a reserve driver for Haas.

Doohan said he received several death‑threatening emails before the Miami Grand Prix and saw three armed men, forcing him to call a police escort. The threats were described as “pretty heavy stuff” in the Netflix series Drive to Survive.

After the race, Alpine replaced him with Franco Colapinto and Doohan posted that online abuse had increased, blaming fans from Argentina. He is now a reserve driver for Haas.
