Danika Mason Apologizes for Drinking Before Olympic Broadcast

Australian sports presenter Danika Mason has apologized after drinking alcohol before a live Winter Olympics broadcast, where she slurred her words and went off-topic.

Australian sports presenter Danika Mason has apologized after drinking alcohol before a Channel Nine's Today show live Winter Olympics broadcast. During the segment, Mason slurred her words throughout and went off-topic, discussing iguanas when the segment had been focused on coffee.

Studio host Karl Stefanovic attempted to cover for Mason, saying that cold weather can affect speech. Mason took full responsibility, stating "I want to take full responsibility, it's not the standard I set myself," and adding that she shouldn't have had a drink. Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese expressed support for Mason, saying "I'm pro Danika. Good on her," attributing the incident to time difference and fatigue.
