Colts Place Transition Tag on Jones

The Indianapolis Colts have placed the transition tag on quarterback Daniel Jones, valued at $37.833M, following his career revival in 2025.

The transition tag allows Jones to sign offers from other teams, with the Colts retaining the right to match any agreement. This option is approximately $6 million cheaper than the franchise tag for quarterbacks. Jones joined the Colts after six seasons with the New York Giants and was having his best professional season before a season-ending injury.

In 13 games, he passed for 3,101 yards with 19 touchdowns and added 164 rushing yards with five scores, posting a career-best 68% completion percentage.
