Strasbourg’s Diego Moreira set to be out for a month

RC Strasbourg Alsace’s Diego Moreira (21) is set to be sidelined for a month, according to L’Équipe.

Ruled out of this Tuesday’s Coupe de France quarter-final against Stade de Reims, the young winger, who has suffered a sprain, will also miss important upcoming matches in Ligue 1 and the Conference League. If the timeframe suggested by the sports daily proves accurate, Moreira could make his return after the next international break.

If this were the case, he would miss, in addition to today’s match, Ligue 1 fixtures against AJ Auxerre, Paris FC and FC Nantes, as well as the European Cup round of 16 first and second legs against Croatian side HNK Rijeka.

This is a significant setback for RCSA and Gary O’Neil, who has relied heavily on the Belgian international, with two caps to his name, since his arrival in eastern France. Having played 33 times for Strasbourg since the start of the season, Moreira has scored four goals and provided seven assists.
