Spartans moving up in latest 'bracketology' update from ESPN's Joe Lunardi

Michigan State basketball is rolling again, and they experienced a notable jump up the seed lines in the latest NCAA Tournament projection from ESPN's Joe Lunardi.

The Spartans moved up a few spots in the latest update of bracketology from Lunardi released on Monday morning. Per the latest update from Lunardi, Michigan State is now up to the No. 2 seed in the East Region. Prior to last week's success on the court at Purdue and Indiana, the Spartans were listed as a No. 4 seed.

Michigan State has won four straight games to bounce back from their early February slump, and now positioned for a strong finish to the regular season. The Spartans are 24-5 overall and 14-4 in Big Ten play, with two games remaining in the regular season this week: home vs. Rutgers on Thursday and at rival Michigan on Sunday.

As long as the Spartans take care of business as heavy favorites against Rutgers this week, it appears their new floor for seeding is a No. 3 seed. And their ceiling looks to be a No. 2 seed. There is still a lot of teams in contention for the No. 2, 3 and 4 seeds, so it'll be interesting to see how things shake out over the final two weeks before Selection Sunday. But for now, Michigan State is sitting in a great spot.
