Good morning.

Shawn McFarland has a few observations regarding the Texas Rangers beating the Seattle Mariners in a spring training contest yesterday.

McFarland also checks out what we learned from Surprise this week with new manager Skip Schumaker able to relate to the infielders in camp.

Kennedi Landry writes about Jacob Latz attempting to graduate from being viewed primarily as a reliever with a bid for the rotation this spring.

McFarland notes that Latz has introduced a new curveball to this repertoire in hopes of making his offerings more starter friendly.

Landry’s newsletter covers Cody Freeman playing the part of cheerleader as he deals with an injury that has cost him a chance to fight for a roster spot in Surprise.

McFarland writes that prospect Cam Cauley has been making the most of his shot at opening eyes at camp this spring.

Landry lists former third-rounder Cauley as the prospect that has been making the most noise for Texas so far this spring.

McFarland notes that Marc Church and Cody Bradford are making their next steps as they work their way back from injuries.

And, McFarland lands on outfielder Paulino Santana as the No. 23 prospect on the DMN’s top 30 Rangers prospects list.

Have a nice day!
