Oliver Bearman is eyeing a full-time Ferrari drive, but so far, there hasn’t been any indication from the team.

Bearman stepped into Formula 1 in 2024, filling in for Carlos Sainz at Ferrari during the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix and later in the year for Haas for the Azerbaijan and Sao Paulo grands prix.

He impressed in his first race, finishing seventh and picking up points for Ferrari while also coming in ahead of fellow Brits Lando Norris and Lewis Hamilton.

Following that debut, Bearman joined Haas as a full-time driver for the 2025 season. He finished the year with 41 points, placing 13th overall.

Bearman remains focused on Haas despite Ferrari ambition

Oliver Bearman has made it clear that he is desperate to join Ferrari full-time and prove himself again, though nothing concrete has come his way just yet.

The 20-year-old is about to begin his second season with Haas but hasn’t had any signals yet that a spot at Ferrari might be opening up anytime soon.

Despite the ongoing speculation linking him to a move, Bearman isn’t letting it distract him. He believes he can achieve something special with Haas this year and is fully focused on what’s in front of him.

Speaking to the Express, Bearman addressed the talk about his future: “I’ve been told nothing. That’s not my job. I’m not the one who’s negotiating what my future looks like.

“My target is to continue what I’m doing, proving what I’m capable of behind the wheel and, in my view, the rest will sort itself out.”

He added: “It’s flattering to have the connotations, but my job remains to try to maximise what we can achieve with this team. Next year, we have a new regulation set and an opportunity to do some pretty special things.”

Bearman reflected on his debut: “I was very lucky to have made my debut with Ferrari. That was one of the most special moments in my life. So, of course, my main motivation in life is to get back into a red car and prove what I’m capable of.”

Bearman comfortable with major regulation shifts

One of the big storylines ahead of the 2026 Formula 1 season is the sweeping rule changes that have been introduced.

Bearman, now heading into his second year in F1, feels that his background in adapting to new rules during his time in junior categories will serve him well.

The only period where he stayed within the same set of regulations was during back-to-back seasons in Formula 2, spanning 2023 and 2024.

During testing, Bearman ended up sixth on the final day, having completed 88 laps around Bahrain International Circuit by the end of day six.
