Real Madrid superstar frustrated amid worst injury season of his career

Kylian Mbappe is rightly considered one of the best players on the planet based on the merit he has accumulated over the years and his contributions in big games.

He is a difference-maker of the highest quality, and he has shown that once again for Real Madrid over and over again.

One lesser-focused area of Mbappe’s career, however, is his fitness and how he has been largely blessed with an injury-free time across his career so far. Not only does that enable him to be available for all big games but also play with his everything.

A strange situation

As confirmed in a recent report by MARCA, Mbappe is very upset at his injury record this season and is not used to spending such prolonged periods on the sidelines without helping the team on the field.

The injury he is currently nursing has forced him to take a step back five times in the last three months, and it has now reached a point where he has broken a very unfavourable record.

After all, Mbappe’s record for the most days missed in a season through injury so far in his career was set at 51 days which came back in the 2019-20 season.

This season, however, the Frenchman has had a total of eight injuries and has already faced 53 days out and it is thus officially the season where he has missed the most days through setbacks.

For comparison, Mbappe missed just 24 days for Real Madrid last season and only 42 days off in his last three seasons for PSG before joining Real Madrid.

His latest injury keeps him out for Real Madrid’s next two games at least, and his participation against Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 is also in doubt.

Needless to say, serious questions must be asked of how his injury has been handled by both the player and the management.
