No. 6 LSU (25-4, 11-4 SEC) defeated Tennessee (16-11, 8-7 SEC), 89-73, at Pete Maravich Assembly Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Jaida Civil led the Lady Vols in scoring with 17 points. She converted 5-of-10 field goal attempts, 2-of-4 three-point attempts and 5-of-7 free throw attempts. Civil also totaled eight rebounds, one assist and two steals in 27 minutes.
Nya Robertson scored 14 points for Tennessee. She converted 5-of-8 field goal attempts, 3-of-5 three-point attempts and 1-of-2 free throw attempts.
Talaysia Cooper totaled 13 points, four rebounds, one assist and one steal.
LSU outrebounded Tennessee, 45-43. The Tigers also scored 50 points in the paint.
The Lady Vols scored 29 bench points, 30 points in the paint, 13 points off turnovers, 14 second chance points and 14 fast break points.
Tennessee will next play March 1 against Vanderbilt at Food City Center. Tipoff between the Lady Vols and Commodores is slated for 2 p.m. EST and will be televised by ESPN.
