The Las Vegas Raiders are expected to take a look at the 2026 defensive line class. With the new scheme in place under Rob Leonard, the big boys upfront will be expected to win without blitzing at a high rate.

Kubiak announced today that the Raiders will be moving to a 3-4 defense, which means the search for a nose tackle is now vital.

One player who could help in that area is Lee Hunter from Texas Tech. Hunter had a breakout season in 2025, helping one of the best defensive lines in college football dominate the competition. The Former Red Raider had 25 defensive run stops last season with 26 pressures. His personality shone at the NFL combine, and he had a formal meeting with the Raiders.

Hunter’s main motivation is his family, and he spoke about how that drives him to perform on the field.

“My five-year-old changed my life, and she is the reason I do what I do. That’s my why and what I go hard for.”

He also summed up what he brings to the table for any football team that drafts him.

“I am a great defensive lineman, I’m good at what I do. I can help and be a great person. I’m going to put the work in and help stop the run and get to the quarterback.”

Hunter could be a target for the Raiders at 36, especially if they are going to a true 3-4 scheme. With his personality and motivation to be great, he will be a great addition to the Silver and black.
