The Utah Jazz are reportedly losing another member of their frontcourt.
Centre Jusuf Nurkić is set to undergo season-ending nose surgery on Wednesday, NBA on Prime insider Chris Haynes reported Monday.
Nurkić, 31, joins Jaren Jackson Jr. and Walker Kessler as Utah big men to have their season end early due to injury.
A veteran of 12 NBA seasons, Nurkić was traded to the Jazz in the off-season and played in 41 games. The six-foot-11 centre averaged 10.9 points, 10.4 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 1.3 steals on the year while shooting 50.3 per cent from the floor.
The Jazz are Nurkić’s fifth NBA team. He previously spent time with Portland, Denver, Phoenix and Charlotte.
Utah is in a clear battle for draft-lottery positioning for the rest of the season. It currently sits 13th in the Western Conference with an 18-39 record.
