In a recent report, journalist Graeme Bailey revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are in talks to sign Al-Hilal forward Darwin Nunez. It has been mentioned that Spurs are facing competition in the form of Newcastle United in the race to land the Uruguay international.
Nunez’s Impressive Form In Saudi Football
Nunez has enjoyed a good run of form at the Saudi club as he has put in a string of productive displays for them in the final third. The Uruguayan talent has scored nine times and picked up five assists in 24 appearances for Al-Hilal this season across multiple competitions.
The 26-year-old is currently among the best strikers in the Saudi Pro League. Furthermore, he has got some previous experience in the Premier League from his time at Liverpool. Thus, it is no surprise that Spurs want to land him next summer.
His current contract at the Saudi club will run out in the summer of 2028, which could make it difficult for the North London club to sign him on a cut-price deal this off-season.

Is Nunez A Good Choice For Tottenham Hotspur Boss Igor Tudor?
Nunez is proficient at finding a yard of space for himself to get some strikes in at goal. He has got the vision to create a few promising chances in the final third and is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet.
Standing at 1.87m, the Uruguay international can use his strong 1.87m frame to dominate the opposition defenders in the air. As mentioned earlier, Nunez is already quite familiar with the Premier League and won’t take much time to settle into life at Tottenham.
Nunez would inject more pace and goals into Spurs head coach Igor Tudor’s frontline. He is more than capable of earning a regular first-team spot at the North London club in the coming seasons.
At 26, Nunez has his peak years ahead of him, which makes him a decent choice for Tottenham to pursue later this summer. He might even help the North London giants challenge for a major trophy in the future. With all things considered, Tudor would be wise to get him on board at the end of this season.
