Eleven years ago, the fight between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao was a can't-miss event between two generational boxers. Plenty has changed since Mayweather's win over Pacquiao, but the two might not be done with each other yet.

Mayweather is already venturing back into the ring with an exhibition fight against Mike Tyson in April, which will mark the veteran's ninth exhibition fight since retiring from professional boxing in 2017. 

Pacquiao, meanwhile, fought professionally in 2025 for the first time in four years, ending a bout with Mario Barrios in a draw.

Mayweather and Pacquiao have each spent time in retirement, but fans are set to get another chance to see them in the ring together. Here's what you need to know about a potential Mayweather vs. Pacquiao rematch.

Are Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao fighting?

Mayweather and Pacquiao will fight on Sept. 19 in Las Vegas, Netflix announced. Netflix will exclusively stream the bout.

Mayweather and Pacquiao, the greatest fighters of their generation, fought in a highly-anticipated bout on May 2, 2015, with Mayweather winning by unanimous decision. Mayweather would only fight professionally two more times before retiring to exhibitions in 2017.

When will Mayweather and Pacquiao fight?

Mayweather vs. Pacquiao 2 is set for Saturday, Sept. 19, 2026, Netflix announced.

Mayweather and Pacquiao each have exhibition fights lined up for April, with Mayweather fighting Tyson and Pacquiao taking on Ruslan Provodnikov.

Where will Mayweather and Pacquiao fight?

Mayweather vs. Pacquiao 2 will be held at the Sphere in Las Vegas.

The first bout between Mayweather and Pacquiao took place at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, years before the Sphere was even built.

Is Mayweather vs. Pacquiao a professional fight?

Despite Mayweather being nearly nine years into retirement from professional boxing, a second fight with Pacquiao is expected to be professional, rather than an exhibition.

Both Mayweather and Pacquiao are set to fight in exhibition matches in April, but a bout with Pacquiao would be Mayweather's first professional fight since his win over Conor McGregor in 2017 and put his undefeated record to the test. Pacquiao's last professional fight came in 2025.

Mayweather vs. Pacquiao weight class

The weight class for Mayweather vs. Pacquiao 2 isn't yet clear. The two greats faced off for the world welterweight title in 2015, but Mayweather, who will be 49 at the time of the upcoming fight, weighed in at close to 161 pounds for his most recent exhibition fight in 2024. The maximum welterweight limit is 147 pounds.

Pacquiao, meanwhile, came in at 146.8 pounds for his fight with Barrios in 2025, meaning he isn't far from the light middleweight and middleweight class.
