The Detroit Lions officially announced their 2026 coaching staff on Monday, confirming multiple reported hires in the process.
The Lions previously announced the hiring of new offensive coordinator Drew Petzing, who comes over after three years as the Arizona Cardinals' OC and who replaces John Morton.
Detroit's release confirmed that former Giants offensive coordinator and interim head coach Mike Kafka is joining the Lions as its pass game coordinator and that Dan Skipper is joining as an offensive assistant. Kafka was previously reported to be joining in a "high-ranking offensive staff role."
The Lions revealed that Steve Oliver is taking over as tight ends coach after previously serving as assistant offensive line coach.
Defensively, safeties coach Jim O'Neil added the assistant head coach title. Here's the Detroit Lions' full 2026 coaching staff:
