The Los Angeles Rams have had some great players come through their organization during Sean McVay's time with the team, especially at wide receiver.
Puka Nacua is currently dominating alongside Davante Adams, while Cooper Kupp was once a superstar for the Rams. Also previously with the team was Robert Woods. He played five years in Los Angeles and was great.
Woods recently announced his retirement, as the 33-year-old won't suit up anymore in the NFL. But that doesn't mean he's done with the league. The Rams announced some very fun news: Bobby Trees is coming back to the Rams, this time, as a coach.
Rams announce fun Robert Woods coaching news
In the Rams' announced coaching staff for the 2026 season, under the offensive staff, Woods was listed as the "Assistant WRs" coach.

Among the other notable staff additions for the 2026 season are new assistant head coach Kliff Kingsbury and former Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Commanders coach Brian Johnson as a Senior Offensive Assistant to the defense.
It's a new-look staff after having multiple coaches raided this offseason. But, for the Rams, it's shaping up to be a great one. Nate Scheelhaase stayed despite getting head coaching interest and is the new offensive coordinator.
But of the new hires, Woods is by far the most interesting. He didn't retire long ago, but didn't stay away from the NFL for long.

He's now helping the coaching staff as an assistant wide receivers coach. The longtime Rams wide receiver knows a thing or two about good wide receiver play.
Across five seasons and 68 games, Woods caught 367 passes for 4,626 yards and 23 touchdowns. He didn't make a Pro Bowl or an All-Pro, and wasn't healthy during the Super Bowl run, but Woods was one of the staples of the Rams' offense for years.
After a year with the Tennessee Titans and two with the Houston Texans, Woods tried out with the Pittsburgh Steelers but didn't make the roster or play in 2025.
He spent the first four years of his NFL career after being selected 41st overall with the Buffalo Bills. He joined the Rams afterwards, and now, nine years later, is joining the Rams again, this time as a coach.
