HILL DICKINSON STADIUM, LIVERPOOL — Manchester United can open up a three-point gap in fourth place with victory over Everton on Monday night.

Michael Carrick lost his 100% record as Red Devils boss last time out, when Benjamin Sesko's dramatic injury-time equaliser salvaged a draw at West Ham.

United are fifth on 45 points, level with Chelsea above them and Liverpool below them.

Everton won the reverse fixture 1-0 at Old Trafford despite having Idrissa Gueye sent off for an on-field confrontation with team-mate Michael Keane.

Both men start tonight, with Everton right-back Jake O'Brien serving a suspension following his red card against Bournemouth.

Leny Yoro comes into the United defence in place of Lisandro Martinez, who is sidelined by a minor calf injury.

Everton vs. Man United key moments

51 mins: An opportunity for Mbeumo. Mainoo does well to curl a teasing ball into the Everton box. It spins off Tarkowski's shin and Mbeumo smashes over on the volley. He was off balance but that was maybe a better chance than he made it look.

46 mins: Everton have their best chance of the night so far within a minute of the restart. Dewsbury-Hall lays it off to Armstrong, who had the space and time to find a better finish than the one Lammens held onto unfussily.

4 minsTarkowski off the line! Cunha has a shot blocked and Amad is first to the rebound. Pickford takes some of the pace off it but it's trickling in before his centre-back hacks clear.
