Texas Tech star JT Toppin injures lower right leg in loss to Arizona State

Texas Tech star JT Toppin suffered a lower right leg injury late in the second half during the Red Raiders' 72-67 loss to Arizona State on Tuesday.

Toppin, a junior forward averaging nearly 22 points per game, went down after driving to the basket. He finished with 20 points and eight rebounds before needing assistance off the court. Arizona State coach Bobby Hurley expressed hope for Toppin's recovery, while Texas Tech coach Grant McCasland remained uncertain about the severity of the injury as his team battled back to a one-possession game.
