Soto, Brown, Betts Among New MLB Injury List Additions

Juan Soto (27) was removed early in Friday’s game against the Giants after a mild right calf strain and is now on the 15‑day IL, clearing the way for Brett Baty in left field and Mark Vientos at first base. Hunter Brown (27) was placed on the IL with a right shoulder sprain, retroactive to April 2, and is expected to miss at least 15 days. Mookie Betts also added to the IL list, while Cubs slugger Seiya Suzuki is set to return by the end of the week.

Astros’ manager Joe Espada said the team will use a six‑man rotation starting later this week as Brown recovers. The injury report also notes other players on the IL, but Soto, Brown and Betts are the headline names.
