Sharks Release Calder Trophy Winner Jeff Skinner

The San Jose Sharks have placed former Calder Trophy winner Jeff Skinner on waivers, ending his tenure with the team as they prepare for the 2026 Winter Olympics.

The Sharks announced that Jeff Skinner, who has played 1,110 NHL games and scored 379 goals, was placed on unconditional waivers for contract termination. Skinner will become a free agent and may sign a veteran's minimum deal elsewhere.

Skinner, a 33‑year‑old former Calder Trophy winner, appeared in 32 games this season with six goals and seven assists. He last played for the Edmonton Oilers, posting 16 goals and 13 assists in 72 games last year.
