Rockies Sign Catcher Knizner to Minor League Deal

The Colorado Rockies have added catching depth by signing veteran Andrew Knizner to a minor league contract.

Knizner, a seven-year MLB veteran, joins the organization after being released by the Seattle Mariners during spring training. He owns a career .596 OPS with 19 home runs and has played for the Cardinals, Rangers, and Giants.

Opting not to report to Triple-A due to his five years of service time, Knizner seeks a clearer path to the majors behind Hunter Goodman.
