Paul Coffey returns to Oilers as assistant coach

The Edmonton Oilers have announced the return of Paul Coffey to their coaching staff as an assistant coach.

Head coach Kris Knoblauch confirmed Coffey's return, stating, "I believe we will benefit both as a team and as a staff from his return at this time."

Coffey initially joined the Oilers in 2017 as a skills coach and most recently served as a defensive assistant until July. During his tenure, the team ranked fifth in goals allowed per game. "I’m excited to return and work alongside Kris and the entire staff," said Coffey. With 24 games remaining in the regular season, Coffey aims to help the club build momentum for a playoff run.
