Dubois defeats Harper to unify lightweight titles

Caroline Dubois defeated blood‑cut Terri Harper in a 10‑round bout at Olympia to unify the WBC and WBO lightweight belts.

Dubois floored a blood‑cut Harper in the sixth round with a jab and left hook, then outpointed her on the scorecards. Judges gave 98‑91, 97‑92 and 98‑91 in Dubois’ favour, giving her the WBC and WBO lightweight titles.

The bout, held at London’s Olympia, marked the first United Kingdom show by Most Valuable Promotions and saw Dubois extend her record to 13‑1‑0. Harper, a three‑weight champion, finished with 16‑3‑2.
