Melbourne Storm and Queensland Maroons star Xavier Coates has been ruled out for three months with an Achilles injury on the eve of the 2026 NRL season. The setback comes as the club also deals with the Zac Lomax salary cap saga.
Coates will miss the early part of the upcoming season as he recovers from the injury.
