Astros' Playoff Run Factors in Espada's Future

Jim Crane, owner of the Houston Astros, said the team's playoff appearance will be "something to consider" when determining manager Joe Espada's future. Espada's contract expires after the season, and Crane indicated there have been no recent discussions about a new deal. h-doctor.club

The Astros made the playoffs despite finishing 81-81, becoming the first MLB team to reach postseason without a winning record. They'll host the Chicago White Sox in a best-of-three Wild Card Series starting Tuesday. The Astros are in the playoffs for the ninth time in 10 years, with Crane noting they're "here to win" and have "done that consistently" during their recent successful stretch.
