Andy Reid: Fields won't start from scratch with Chiefs

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid confirmed that quarterback Justin Fields will not be starting from scratch, leveraging his previous experience to accelerate his integration into the team's offense.

Reid noted that Fields has already seen portions of his system, which will help the Chiefs develop the signal-caller ahead of the 2026 season. "It’s not going to be completely foreign to him," Reid stated. This familiarity allows the Chiefs to potentially ease Patrick Mahomes back from his ACL injury without rushing him into Week 1 if Fields performs well.
