49ers Top Landing Spot for Seumalo

The San Francisco 49ers are emerging as the ideal landing spot for free agent offensive lineman Isaac Seumalo, according to ESPN's Matt Bowen.

The 49ers face uncertainty at left guard with Ben Bartch and Spencer Burford set to become free agents. Connor Colby would remain as the top option on the roster, prompting the need for veteran reinforcement. Bowen highlighted Seumalo's ability to excel in both zone and gap run concepts, while providing solid pass protection for quarterback Brock Purdy. The 10-year veteran impressed with a 97.3% pass rush win rate and 76.9% run block win rate in 2025.

Seumalo, a Super Bowl champion and 2024 Pro Bowl selection, played collegiately at Oregon State before spending seven years with the Eagles and two with the Steelers. Although the 33-year-old isn't a long-term solution, he could provide immediate help for 1-2 seasons while the team develops a younger replacement.
