Nebraska looked to be cruising with a 5-1 lead entering the seventh inning before Rutgers scored twice to cut the deficit. With runners on corners and the potential go-ahead run at the plate, coach Rhonda Revelle turned to Frahm, who induced three crucial outs to preserve the victory. The performance extended Frahm's single-season saves record to nine.
The Huskers got strong starting pitching from Alexis Jensen, who worked six innings. Offensively, Hannah Coor made a spectacular defensive play in the second inning, and Hannah Camenzind added a home run in the third. The victory improved Nebraska's record to 29-6 overall and 10-1 in Big Ten conference play.
