Diaby, Godwin to Play for Buccaneers

Published October 2, 2026 · Updated October 2, 2026 · NBC Sports

The Buccaneers will have linebacker Yaya Diaby and wide receiver Chris Godwin in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Packers as they try for their first win of the season.

Diaby missed Wednesday's practice with calf and shoulder injuries but returned to full participation by Friday. Godwin, dealing with an ankle issue, returned to a full workload on Thursday, and neither player has an injury designation for this weekend.

Quarterback Baker Mayfield (right thumb) was ruled out early in the week, so rookie Jalon Daniels will be making his first NFL start. The Buccaneers also ruled out several other players, including linebacker Rueben Bain and tight end Ko Kieft. tr-sport.click
