Lakers Await Reaves MRI as Redick Says Mavericks Scanned Wrong Area

The Los Angeles Lakers are awaiting MRI results for Austin Reaves to determine his availability for Sunday's matchup against the Dallas Mavericks. Head coach JJ Redick revealed that a second scan was necessary because the Mavericks initially imaged the wrong area.

Reaves suffered a rib or back injury during Thursday's loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder but returned to finish with 15 points. Redick clarified that the injury is more intercostal than back-related.

Reaves has not been ruled out yet, though his status remains uncertain. Additionally, Marcus Smart's availability for Sunday is also to be determined due to an ankle injury.
