England and Chelsea legend John Terry says that Jude Bellingham is beginning to resemble French great Zinedine Zidane.

The Real Madrid star has been in fine form for the Three Lions at the tournament, having scored six goals and back-to-back braces in the last 16 and quarter-final.

Terry praised Bellingham’s world-class ability and calm leadership, insisting his performances on and off the pitch have been instrumental in England’s run to the semi-finals.

“I said at the start of this World Cup, he reminds me of Zidane. He’s dragging this team through at the moment,” Terry told FIFA.

“I think he’s world class. Also, you listen to him off the pitch, he’s got a real calmness about him as well.”

KANKAN- Karfamoriah FC poursuit son mercato ambitieux. Bien décidé à franchir un cap la saison prochaine, le club de Kankan continue de se renforcer avec des recrues ciblées. Après avoir enregistré plusieurs arrivées depuis l’ouverture du marché des transferts, les « Six Kilos » ont officialisé, ce mercredi 15 juillet 2026, la signature du milieu de terrain Ahmadou Mansaré.

Évoluant sous les couleurs de l’AS Kaloum lors du précédent exercice, le prometteur milieu rejoint toutefois Karfamoriah FC en provenance du Monument Libre de Kaloum. Selon les informations publiées par la page Facebook officielle du club de Kankan, le joueur est prêté pour une durée d’une saison.

Doté d’une excellente qualité technique et capable de se montrer décisif devant le but, Ahmadou Mansaré représente un renfort de poids pour l’entrejeu de Karfamoriah FC. Son arrivée illustre les ambitions affichées par le club, qui entend jouer les premiers rôles en Ligue 1 Guicopres lors de la saison 2026-2027.

Bonne nouvelle pour Mohamed Amine Tougaï. Le défenseur international algérien a obtenu une réduction significative de sa sanction disciplinaire. Initialement suspendu pour une durée d’une année, le joueur a finalement vu sa peine ramenée à quatre mois après réexamen de son dossier par les instances compétentes. La sanction prend effet à compter de la date du dernier derby disputé par son équipe, ce qui permettra au défenseur central de retrouver officiellement la compétition à partir du 11 septembre prochain. Une décision qui change considérablement la donne pour le joueur, lequel craignait de rester éloigné des terrains pendant une longue période. Cette réduction de peine constitue également une excellente nouvelle pour
son club, qui pourra récupérer l’un de ses éléments les plus expérimentés dès le début de la saison. Tougaï pourra ainsi reprendre progressivement le chemin des entraînements collectifs afin de retrouver son meilleur niveau avant son retour officiel à la compétition. Une issue favorable qui met fin à plusieurs semaines d’incertitude autour de l’avenir immédiat du défenseur algérien.

Stellenbosch FC have completed the signing of defender Terrence Mashego on a season-long loan from Mamelodi Sundowns ahead of the 2026-27 Betway Premiership campaign.

From Sundowns to Stellies

The move sees the experienced left-back reunite with Gavin Hunt, who also brought him to Durban City on loan last season.

Although Hunt left City midway through the campaign before taking charge of Stellenbosch, Mashego enjoyed an impressive spell at the club.

However, his resurgence was not enough to earn a place back in Miguel Cardoso’s plans at Sundowns. The 30-year-old arrives at Stellies after helping Durban City lift the Nedbank Cup last season.

“Stellenbosch Football Club is delighted to announce the acquisition of defender Terrence Mashego on a season-long loan from Mamelodi Sundowns,” the club said in a statement.

Stellenbosch FC CEO Rob Benadie believes Mashego’s experience at both club and international level will strengthen the squad.

“Terrence is a player who has competed at the highest level on both the domestic and international stages,” he said.

“And we believe he has the ability and quality to add significant value to our squad. We are delighted to welcome him to the club.”

Phakaaathi previously reported that it was becoming increasingly unlikely that Mashego had a future under Cardoso at Sundowns.

During his time at Chloorkop, Mashego won three Betway Premiership titles and was also part of the Bafana Bafana squad that finished third and claimed the bronze medal at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire.
