Harry Kane et Jude Bellingham ont marqué l’histoire de la sélection anglaise lors de la Coupe du monde 2026. Pour la première fois, deux joueurs des Three Lions atteignent simultanément la barre des six buts au cours d’une même édition du tournoi.
L’Angleterre poursuit son impressionnant parcours dans ce Mondial. Vainqueurs de la Norvège (2-1) en quart de finale, les hommes de Gareth Southgate ont décroché leur qualification pour les demi-finales.
Le héros de la rencontre se nomme Jude Bellingham. Auteur d’un doublé face aux Norvégiens, le milieu de terrain a porté son total à six réalisations dans la compétition. Il rejoint ainsi son capitaine Harry Kane en tête du classement des meilleurs buteurs anglais de cette Coupe du monde.

Junior Bok side named for JWC semi-final against England
Junior Springbok coach Kevin Foote has made four personnel changes to his starting team for their Junior World Championship semi-final against England in Tbilisi on Monday evening, as the SA U20s aim to secure a place in the tournament final.
There are two changes in the backline and two in the forwards from the side that defeated Wales in their final Pool A encounter earlier this week in the Georgian capital.
Foote has also opted for six forwards and two backs on the replacements bench, underlining the physical challenge expected from England.
In the forwards, Kebotile Maake will start at openside flanker, with Luke Cannon named on the blindside and Gert Kemp at No 8. They replace Risima Khosa, who is on the bench, and Vujo Gwiji in the loose forwards.
The backline changes see Markus Muller back at outside centre in place of Samuel Badenhorst, while Luan Giliomee returns to the starting line-up at fullback after successfully completing his head injury assessment protocols. Giliomee takes over from Alzeadon Felix, who provides backline cover from the bench.
Foote said the extra recovery day between the pool phase and semi-finals provided an opportunity to freshen up the squad ahead of a demanding encounter.
“We’ve made some rotational changes to the squad, mindful that we had an extra day for recovery, which came at the right time after three pool matches in a relatively short period,” said Foote.
“We have selected what we believe is an exciting team and a combination best suited to our game model against a very good England side.”
England advanced to the semi-finals after winning all three of their pool matches and arrive unbeaten, just like the Junior Boks.
“England have shown their quality by winning all three of their pool games,” said Foote.
“They have a strong and successful history in this competition and will be highly motivated for this match. We have prepared well, and now it’s about executing our plan.
“These young men love representing this team and playing for South Africa. We are grateful to represent our country and are excited about the challenge that awaits us on Monday.”
The match starts at 18h30 SA time and will be broadcast live on SuperSport.

Jayden Adams’ mother: He kicked everything, even potatoes
Just weeks before his death, Jayden Adams’ parents gave South Africans a glimpse into the footballer’s life during a television interview.
Candice and Juanito Adams revealed the childhood memories, sacrifices and faith that shaped Jayden into one of the country’s brightest football talents.
The Bafana Bafana and Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder died on 11 July at the age of 25.
He kicked everything, even potatoes
In the interview, Candice shared that her son’s love for football started when he was just three years old.
“He kicked everything in the house,” she recalled with a smile. “Even the potatoes never lasted because he kicked them around.”
She said football quickly became part of his everyday life and that his passion for the game was impossible to miss.
Juanito said his son’s talent stood out from an early age.
“It was evident,” he said, recalling how Jayden’s natural ability became clear every time he stepped onto the field.
Prayer carried him through difficult times
Candice said the family relied on prayer during difficult moments in his football journey. She encouraged him to stay strong, shake off disappointment and keep pushing towards his dreams.
Watching him represent Bafana Bafana filled her with pride. “It brought tears of joy,” she said.
His father described Jayden as humble and respectful. Furthermore, Juanito said his son earned every success through years of sacrifice, discipline and hard work.
SAPS confirms inquest
Western Cape SAPS has opened an inquest after officers found the footballer’s body at a property in Schotsche Kloof, Cape Town, on Saturday. Spokesperson Captain FC van Wyk said police are investigating the circumstances surrounding his death.
Tributes have continued to pour in from across South Africa as teammates, clubs and supporters remember not only Adams’ talent but also the humility and character his parents said defined him throughout his life.
