Al-Hilal & Al-Nassr and Galatasaray & Fenerbahce All Linked With Inter Milan Outcast As Marseille Snub Permanent Move
The future of Benjamin Pavard is up in the air again after Marseille confirmed they will not trigger their purchase option, with the France defender set to return to Inter Milan before being moved on, and Saudi Arabia and Turkey emerging as the most realistic destinations. newsindata.com
Marseille’s decision leaves Inter with a problem, as per L’Interista.
Pavard does not feature in Cristian Chivu’s plans and the club want to find a solution quickly.
The challenge is financial.
Indeed, his salary of around €5 million net per season and a transfer fee in the region of €15 million make him a difficult sell in the current European market.
In England, Manchester United and Tottenham had been considered credible options, but Roberto De Zerbi’s appointment at Spurs effectively closes that door.
The pair’s difficult working relationship at Marseille makes a reunion unlikely.
Saudi Arabia & Turkey Offer Most Realistic Exit Routes For Inter Milan Outcast Pavard
The most concrete interest now comes from outside Europe’s top leagues.
Al-Hilal and Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia have the financial firepower to meet both his salary demands and his transfer fee.
And, indeed, both clubs have shown appetite for established European defenders in recent windows.
Galatasaray and Fenerbahce in Turkey are also monitoring the situation, though the salary remains a sticking point in that market. Creative deal structures could help bridge the gap.
Inter want this resolved quickly.
Yankees should trade for Reds' 24-year old 3B to replace Ryan McMahon
Yankees should trade for Reds' 24-year old 3B to replace Ryan McMahon originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The New York Yankees had a black hole at third base last season, and they thought they solved it with Ryan McMahon at the trade deadline from the Colorado Rockies.
So far this season, though, McMahon has been the black hole at third base. His struggles at the plate haven't gone away, and the Yankees again find themselves in a spot of needing to figure out the hot corner.
If they're looking for ideas -- they should call up the Cincinnati Reds.

The Reds have a stellar fielder at third base, Ke'Bryan Hayes, but that's not who the Yankees should want. They should ask for Noelvi Marte.
Marte rose through the minor leagues as an infielder who is comfortable at third base, but because of Hayes, the Reds converted Marte into a right fielder.
He played well out there at the end of last season, but a slow start to this campaign has him splitting time in right with Will Benson.
Marte is still just 24 years old, and he hit .263 last season with a .748 OPS that included 14 home runs. There's room for growth in his game, and his early-season struggles are still a small sample size.
Sure, you could say the same for McMahon, but he already had been a hitter on decline before the Rockies moved him to the Bronx. This feels, at least in part, like the continuation of a theme.

Marte, conversely, should be a hitter on the rise. He conceptually hasn't reached his prime yet. There's reason to believe there are more good things to come.
He was a highly regarded prospect, and the Reds have made his path a bit bumpy by not always having consistent opportunity for him, as well as by moving him all around the field.
The Yankees could acquire Marte, slot him at third and let him be there every day. That consistency would allow his bat to flourish, and it might finally solve this problem.
It's just an idea, but maybe it's one the Yankees should consider.

Colts named landing spot for former All-Pro WR in free agency
Could the Indianapolis Colts still be looking to add to the wide receiver position in free agency?
Sports Illustrated's Gilberto Manzano put together his list of the top eight remaining free agents and picked landing spots for each. On that list was wide receiver Deebo Samuel, with Manzano then picking the Colts as the "ideal landing spot."
"Samuel hasn’t made the same impact he did in his All-Pro 2021 season, but taking fewer snaps in the backfield likely added a few extra years to his career," Manzano wrote. "He’s not as dynamic as he once was. Still, it bodes well that his route-running skills and reliable hands led to him recording 72 catches for 727 yards and five touchdowns in 2025."
Colts named landing spot for free agent WR Deebo Samuel
Samuel was a second-round pick by the 49ers in the 2019 NFL draft. In 2021, Samuel was named a first-team All-Pro and a Pro Bowler. That year, he had over 1,500 receiving yards, 502 rushing yards, and 10 total touchdowns.
Earlier in his career, Samuel did a bit of everything within the 49ers' offense, making plays as a ball carrier, as a pass catcher, and moving around the formation. He's been very good with the ball in his hands, picking up YAC.
As Manzano mentions, Samuel's role as a ball carrier was reduced quite a bit last season with Washington. However, he still found success in the passing game, making plays with the ball in his hands.
For the Colts, the starting receiver position next to Alec Pierce and Josh Downs is up for grabs. As of now, Ashton Dulin and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine are the two players most likely competing for those snaps.
The Colts have plenty of salary cap space to make an addition at this stage of free agency, where none of the contracts will break the bank. Realistically, any potential free agent addition may not come until after the NFL draft, when Chris Ballard can then see what his full roster looks like.
