Watch Garett Bolles’ great reaction to USA beating Canada in hockey

If you decided to sleep in on Sunday, we have some news for you. The United States' Olympic men's hockey team beat the Canadian Olympic team in the gold medal game, in a 2-1 overtime instant-classic. In a game that featured four Colorado Avalanche players, this was a highly anticipated matchup between two hockey powerhouses.

Denver Broncos left tackle Garett Bolles got up early (about 6:10 am MST) on Sunday to watch the game. When American Jack Hughes scored the winning goal to give the US their first hockey gold since the 1980 "Miracle on Ice" team, Bolles was fired up, cheering in his home with his kids.

Bolles also gave a shoutout to US goalie Connor Hellebuyck, who stopped 41 of 42 shots to lead the Americans to victory.

Team USA wrapped up the Milan-Cortina games with 33 combined medals (12 gold, 12 silver and nine bronze), good for the second-most of any country at the Olympics.

Next time the Games come around, flag football will be a sport at the 2028 Summer Olympics, an event the Americans should dominate. NFL players have been excited about the opportunity to represent their country. Since the NFL switched to flag football at the annual Pro Bowl, it should be good practice for Team USA. Perhaps, Bolles could make the roster as a pass catcher.
