FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas basketball didn't move in the latest USA TODAY Coaches Poll after a 1-1 week that included a road defeat against Alabama and a home win over Missouri.
The Razorbacks (20-7, 10-4 SEC) stayed put at No. 17 in the poll that was released Monday, Feb. 23. John Calipari's team couldn't capitalize on a historic, 49-point performance from Darius Acuff Jr. in the double-overtime loss to the Crimson Tide. Four players fouled out after regulation.
However, Arkansas bounced back over the weekend with an eight-point victory vs. Missouri. Acuff scored 20 and Billy Richmond III led the way with 21 as the Hogs never trailed in the second half.
The win over Missouri kept Arkansas just two games behind first-place Florida in the SEC standings.
The other ranked SEC teams this week are No. 7 Florida, No. 18 Alabama, No. 21 Vanderbilt and No. 22 Tennessee. The Hogs will face the Gators this weekend and already have home victories over the Volunteers and Commodores.
Duke (25-2) took hold of the top spot after beating Michigan, last week's No. 1, on Saturday. The Wolverines fell to No. 3.
The full top-five is Duke, Arizona, Michigan, Houston and Iowa State.
Four of Arkansas' seven losses this season came to teams currently ranked.
The Razorbacks return to action on Wednesday, Feb. 25 with a home game against Texas A&M.
