Veteran receiver Dominique Rhymes retires after eight CFL campaigns

Dominique Rhymes is retiring after eight CFL seasons.

The veteran American receiver confirmed his retirement to The Canadian Press on Friday.

The six-foot-four, 215-pound Rhymes registered three 1,000-yard campaigns over his career in Canada.

Last year, he averaged a career-best 17.7-yards per reception with the Calgary Stampeders (50 catches, 886 yards, six touchdowns) before becoming a free agent Feb. 10.

Rhymes, 32, has registered 372 career catches for 5,822 yards with 32 TDs in 110 regular-season contests with Ottawa (2017-19, 2024), B.C. (2021-23) and Calgary (2025).

His best season came in 2022 with B.C., when he established career highs in targets (122), catches (85), yards (1,401) and touchdown grabs (11) and was named a CFL all-star.
